Accepted
An Independent Business Owner ("IBO") is considered Accepted when Power Lifestyles International ("PLI") receives their completed and signed IBO Application, has satisfied Starter Pak requirements, and is accepted by PLI, at PLI's sole discretion, as a new IBO.
Active
An Independent Business Owner ("IBO") is considered Active by having been Accepted by Power Lifestyles International ("PLI"), by being in compliance with all stipulations of the IBO Policies and Procedures, and by having satisfied the minimum Personal Volume requirements, as set forth in the PLI Compensation Plan, to ensure that he or she is eligible to receive bonuses and commissions.
Agreement
The contract between the Company and each IBO, which includes the IBO Application and Agreement, the PLI Policies and Procedures, the PLI Compensation Plan, and the Business Entity Form (where appropriate), all in their current form and as amended by PLI in its sole discretion. These documents are collectively referred to as the "Agreement."
Commissionable Products
All PLI products on which commissions and bonuses are paid. Business Tools and sales aids are not commissionable products.
Commissionable Volume (CV)
The dollar volume from a sales order upon which commissions are paid.
Company
The term "Company" as it is used throughout the Agreement means POWER LIFESTYLES INTERNATIONAL, INC.
Compression
When a product is purchased, the IBO Compensation Plan automatically searches the Upline of the facilitating IBO, through a process called Compression, to find an IBO who is qualified to receive each related commission or bonus.
CV
CV is the abbreviation for Commissionable Volume. See Commisionable Volume.
Downline
See "Personal Organization."
Downline Activity Report
A monthly report generated by PLI that provides critical data relating to the identities of IBOs, sales information, and enrollment activity of each IBO's Marketing Organization. This report contains confidential and trade secret information which is proprietary to PLI.
Downline Leg
Each IBO personally sponsored by you, along with their respective marketing organizations, represents one "leg" in your marketing organization.
End Consumer
A person who purchases PLI products for the purpose of personally using them, rather than reselling them to someone else.
Generations
A Generation, for compensation purposes, is made up of those IBOs in a Lineage that are qualified as Active, and excludes those who are not qualified. Thus, an Active IBO on your 2nd Level, would be considered your 1st Generation in any month that their Sponsor was not Active. This process of moving IBOs up into the compensation slots of those IBOs who are not qualified for that month, is referred to as Compression.
Group Volume (GV)
The total of all PV sold by all of an IBO's downlines for a commission period. An IBO's own PV is included in their GV.
GV
GV is the abbreviation for Group Volume. See Group Volume.
IBO
IBO is an abbreviation for Independent Business Owner. See Independent Business Owner.
IBO Compensation Plan
IBOs are given the opportunity to earn income based on their success in facilitating sales of PLI products, and the specific ways in which they are rewarded for these sales is represented in the IBO Compensation Plan.
IBO Compliance
In order to remain an IBO in good standing with PLI, retaining all related rights, the IBO must be in compliance with all rules of conduct as communicated in the IBO Policies and Procedures, the current version of which is available on the IBO's Personal Marketing Site.
IBO Price
Each PLI product is priced at a fair market value, called a Retail Price, and each Active IBO has the right to purchase these products at the IBO Price, representing a 25% discount of the Retail Price.
Independent Business Owner
An Independent Business Owner ("IBO") is a legal person who has been Accepted by PLI, as an independent contractor with rights to purchase PLI products at the IBO Price, and facilitate sales of PLI products for which they are compensated per the IBO Compensation Plan. In addition, PLI will provide each Independent Business Owner with training for developing their personal independent business, access to a Personal Marketing Site, and ongoing support and communications.
Level
A Level is the position, relative to a specific IBO, where another IBO resides within that specific IBO's Personal Organization. Ex.: If Gail Sponsors John, then John is on Gail's 1st Level. If John Sponsors Judy, then Judy is on Gail's 2nd Level.
Official PLI Material
Literature, websites, audio or video tapes, files, and other materials developed, printed, published and distributed by PLI to IBOs.
Paks
PLI offers several business support packages (Paks) to help IBOs more effectively begin development of their IBO business. Each Pak contains PLI training and marketing materials, and allows a new IBO to immediately earn income as per the IBO Compensation Plan. The minimum selection for each new IBO, upon initially signing up, is the Starter Pak, which contains no products. The FastStart Marketing Pak contains everything in the Starter Pak, plus carefully selected products at a price discount beyond the IBO Price, pre-paid use of the Personal Marketing Site for one year, and qualification to receive Power Bonuses. The PowerStart Marketing Pak contains everything in the FastStart Marketing Pak, plus additional products at the most significant price discount.
Personal Group
A Personal Group represents the one or more IBOs who reside on 1st Level, 2nd Level and 3rd Level of an IBO's Personal Organization.
Personal Sales Volume (PV)
The total of all Commissionable Volume (CV) credited to an IBO in a commission period, for product purchases made by the IBO in their Business Center, along with all product purchases made by Retail Customers on their Personal Marketing Site.
Personal Marketing Website
Each IBO will be provided use of a personalized website, called a Personal Marketing Site, to be used for purposes of marketing and selling PLI's products, Sponsoring IBOs, using the training programs, and communicating with PLI. There is a monthly service charge of $5.95 for use of the Personal Marketing Site, and this amount is waived each month that the IBO's monthly compensation check is less than $27.00. The software that manages all Personal Marketing Sites will keep track of all product purchases and IBO Sign-ups that take place on each Personal Marketing Site, so that all activities that happen on related Personal Marketing Sites will be automatically and accurately reflected in Position advancements and earnings per the IBO Compensation Plan.

PV
PV is an abbreviation for Personal Sales Volume.
Position Titles
An IBO's level of compensation payout is determined by the Position Title they have qualified for. The IBO will be referred to, in communications, by the highest Position Title they have qualified for, but will be paid, as per the IBO Compensation Plan, at the Position Title they qualify for during each Commission Period. The Position Titles that an IBO may qualify for are: Marketing Rep, Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Senior Director, Vice President, and Senior Vice President.

Retail Customer
An individual who purchases PLI products from an IBO, either directly from that IBO or through that IBO's Personal Marketing Site.
Retail Customer Price
The price at which Retail Customers purchase PLI products on an IBO's Personal Marketing Site.
Sponsor
An IBO who signs up another IBO into the Company, and is listed as the Sponsor on the IBO Agreement. The act of signing up others and training them to become effective IBOs is called "sponsoring."
Starter Pak

Upline
up to the Company. Conversely stated, it is the line of sponsors that links any particular IBO to the Company.
