Q.  How does a person become an Independent Business Owner (IBO)?
A.  A person must be sponsored into the POWER LIFESTYLES INTERNATIONAL™ ("PLI" or "Company") business by an existing IBO. The person signing up will use the sponsoring IBO's online Personal Marketing Site (typically) to complete the IBO Application, agree to abide by the IBO Agreement, and purchase the Starter Pak at $19.95, at which time they will be issued their own Personal Marketing Site and six-digit IBO Number. The ultimate determination whether to accept a person's IBO application is made by the Company.

Q.  Is it expensive to start an IBO business?
A.  No. In fact, the only purchase required is a Starter Pak, at $19.95, that provides important information, literature and sales tools. No purchases of product are required, although it is recommended that all IBOs familiarize themselves with the products in order to properly represent them.

Q.  Are IBOs employees of the Company?
A.  No. IBOs are independent contractors and not employees of the Company.

Q.  Who makes the products for POWER LIFESTYLES INTERNATIONAL™ ("PLI")?
A.  PLI has retained top nutritional scientists to formulate each of its nutritional products, and uses federally licensed and inspected manufacturers for producing these products.

Q.  How can I buy the Company's products?
A.  PLI products are sold exclusively by the Company's IBOs. For more information, visit the Personal Marketing Site of the IBO who introduced you to the Company and its products.

Q.  Is the Company publicly or privately held?
A.  POWER LIFESTYLES INTERNATIONAL™ ("PLI") is a privately held California corporation.

Q.  When was the Company founded?
A.  PLI was incorporated in 2005, and began publicly marketing its products through IBOs in January of 2008.

Q.  Who leads the Company?
A.  PLI is lead by Mike Hudson, Founder & President, along with a carefully selected Board of Directors and Home Office Team. For more information, visit the Board of Directors section, reached from the About Us page.

Q.  Do IBOs have to make product purchases?
A.  No. IBOs are not required to make any minimum or ongoing purchases. Only when they wish to participate in the income opportunities, afforded them through the IBO Compensation Plan, must an IBO directly facilitate sales of products (either through personal purchases, or personal sales to customers).

Q.  I've heard that Network Marketing companies are illegal "pyramid" organizations. Is this true?
A.  No. PLI is one of many reputable Network Marketing companies that, as a part of the Direct Sales industry, manufacture and distribute quality products and services. This powerful industry, in fiscal year 2006, generated global retail sales of over $90 billion, and represent some of the more successful companies in business today. On the other hand, "pyramid" organizations are illegal, and do not offer real or competitively priced products, and usually compensate people for recruiting others to their money-making scheme, versus finding others who will enjoy and purchase products of value. PLI is committed to only providing products that contribute to peoples' health, and are so effective and competitively priced that people would purchase them even if there was no associated income opportunity.

Q.  What influence does the Company have with its IBOs?
A.  PLI requires a new IBO to sign an Agreement that obligates them to adhere to strict ethical guidelines, and provides practical procedures for conducting their IBO business. Each year, an IBO must voluntarily renew this promise when they renew their IBO business. An IBO's opportunities and involvement with the Company are dependent on their observance of these guidelines and procedures.

Q.  How much time does an IBO need to allocate to this business?
A.  Each IBO determines for them self how much time and effort they will allocate to their IBO business. Like any small business, the amount of strategic effort invested will determine the level of financial success enjoyed. Yet, unlike most small businesses, an IBO determines how much time they will devote, where they will work (like from the comfort of their own home), and most importantly with whom they will work. This flexibility, the opportunity to be their own boss, the enthusiastic support from other successful IBOs, and of course the access to great products, are some of the major reasons why people become an IBO.

Q.  Is product pricing competitive?
A.  PLI products are very price-competitive, and offer far greater value than the top selling products in their same category. For instance, the Retail Price of our energy drink, BRIO™, is $29.95 for a box of 16 servings ($1.87 per serving), whereas 4 cans (8.3 fl oz each) of RedBull (the top selling energy drink in the world, with sales over $4 Billion USD in 2007) sell at Vons supermarket (online) for $7.77 ($1.94 per serving). Q.  I'm interested in becoming an IBO, but I have questions about the compensation plan. Where do I go to learn more about it?
A.  First, read completely the information you will find on the OPPORTUNITY page of this Site, especially the information linked from the menu on the left, including: "Compensation Plan," "Policies and Procedures," and "Terminology Defined." Next, discuss your questions with the IBO who referred you, and if they don't have answers then their Upline probably will. If you still are unable to get a satisfactory answer, please go to the "Contact Us" page of this Site and email us your question. We will respond within one business day.

Q.  I'm sold! How do I become an Independent Business Owner (IBO)?
A.  It's as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Complete the IBO Application:

On the HOME page of the Personal Marketing Site of your Sponsor (the person who referred you), press the "Start Your Business Now" button . . . select a starting Pak (purchasing a FastStart or PowerStart Marketing Pak is the only way to qualify for Power Bonuses) . . . read the Independent Business Owner Agreement" and then press the "I Agree" button. Complete the personal information section (the "Billing Address" is the one you use for credit card statements of the card you are using), and press the "Process" button. Confirm your shipping choice, and press the "Process" button. Print a copy of the confirmation page, make note of your permanent IBO ID# (6 digit), and press the word "HERE" in sentence at bottom of page . . . you are now at your new Personal Marketing Site, which is always accessed by going to: www.powerlifestyles.com/(your 6-digit ID#).

  4. On your Personal Marketing Site, in the upper right of any page, press the "Login" button. Input your Username (your 6-digit ID#) and Password (the one you chose when signing up), and press "Login" . . . you are now in your private Back Office business center, where you have access to many important resources, all accessed in the menu on the left, including: "Reports: Sponsor Genealogy" (view who your Upline is, and new IBOs as they become a part of your organization), "Forms" (marketing and informational literature you can download), "Orders: Product Orders" (where you purchase products at your 25% discount), Information: Edit Profile (add a personal greeting to the "Contact Us" page of your Site, and change your name at top of your Site), "Information: Edit Information" (change your personal information, addresses, credit card information and Password), and much more. Get to know your Back Office, and use it to your full advantage.
